I use a Montessori-based multi-sensory approach that makes learning fun! If your child is struggling to retain letter sounds, is hesitant about taking those first steps towards reading, or if you just want your child to have a solid foundation in literacy before entering Kindergarten or First Grade, I can help! I specialize in tutoring children between the ages of 3–8 years old, using materials that work well with the attention span of the younger child. I look forward to helping your child become a life-long learner of literacy!
I offer one-hour, in-person tutoring sessions, available at the location of your choice: your home, my home, or a local library or meeting space. I will perform assessments and customize a program based upon your child's individual needs. Although literacy may be the direct goal, there are several indirect goals that I focus on as well: concentration, fine motor skills, handwriting improvement, and vocabulary.
With over 25 years of experience as a classroom teacher in the early childhood field, I am an expert in early literacy and helping children to learn to read.
